ABOUT YOUR HOST

Hi, I’m Chelsi.

I’m the voice behind Hold the Line at Home. I’ve been married to my husband, who works for CAL FIRE, for more than 18 years. I’m also a mother of three, a photographer, a podcast host, and a writer who has spent a lot of years learning how to build a life around a job that does not always leave room for normal.

Fire family life has shaped our marriage, our home, our parenting, and the way I see almost everything now.

I know the shift-day routines, the holdover meltdowns, the re-entry moods, the last-minute changes, and the kind of family calendar that should probably come with a warning label. I also know the deep pride, the weird humor, and the appreciation that comes from learning how to make the most of the time you actually get together.

Hold the Line at Home grew out of my own life, my years cohosting conversations for fire families, and the realization that so many of us are trying to make this life work without much language for what it asks of the people at home.

This is where I share my stories, conversations from the Hold the Line at Home podcast, and practical reflections on marriage, motherhood, home systems, re-entry after shift, long assignments, and the emotional weight that can come with loving someone in the fire service.

If you’ve ever loved this life and still needed help making it work at home, welcome home.
